Welcome to Malaysia!
Hey AIESEC Alumni,
Malaysia is so excited to welcome you to Kuala Lumpur for the AIESEC
Alumni Asia Pacific Summit 2026.
The theme this year is ‘Rumah Terbuka’, which means Open House in Malay; inspired by one of Malaysia’s most beloved traditions. During festive seasons, we open our homes to everyone. Food is shared, stories are told, and old and new connections come together under one roof.
That’s the spirit we hope this gathering carries too.
More than just another summit, this is a chance to reconnect with your AIESEC family, learn from one another across generations and experiences, and grow alongside people who share the same values, memories, and spirit that brought us together in the first place.
We can’t wait to welcome you.

Invaluable insights for your personal & professional development,
An understanding of the reforms currently being undertaken globally to produce greater value, increase engagement, increase impact & ensure financial sustainability.
Training on the new global programmes & initiatives, many of which originated in AAAP , and
The many leadership opportunities that exist for you at the national, regional and international levels.
Another highlight will be a formal Gala, with various special guests, to remind us all that we are members of a truly global community.
Above all, at APS 2026, you will reconnect with old friends, and make many new life-long connections.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
AIESECly yours,

Why Malaysia, why now
Malaysia sits at the heart of Southeast Asia's most exciting growth story.
With a rapidly expanding economy, a young and educated workforce, and a strategic position in global trade, Malaysia is far more than a travel destination — it is an opportunity.
Economic Opportunity
Malaysia is one of Southeast Asia's most open economies, with a GDP exceeding USD 400 billion and deep trade ties across APAC, the Middle East, and beyond.
Key growth sectors include digital economy, green energy, advanced manufacturing, and financial services.
Strategic Location
Kuala Lumpur is a regional hub for finance, technology, and professional services. It is home to major APAC headquarters for global companies and is increasingly a launchpad for businesses entering the broader Southeast Asian market of over 680 million people.
Cultural Richness
Malaysia is a living mosaic of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous cultures.
Its food, festivals, arts, and traditions reflect centuries of exchange — a natural home for a community built on cross-cultural understanding.
Travel-Friendly
Malaysia offers visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to travellers from over 160 countries. KL is one of Southeast Asia's best-connected cities, with KLIA serving as a major international hub for flights across the region and beyond.
Explore Malaysia
Whether you arrive a few days early or extend your stay after the summit, here are some of the best ways to experience what this country has to offer.
Kuala Lumpur
Your base for the summit weekend. Explore the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, visit the world’s 2nd-
tallest building at 118 tower, wander through Batu Caves, discover the heritage streets of Chinatown and Little India, and indulge in some of the best street food in Asia. KL is a city that rewards exploration at every turn.
Penang
The Pearl of the Orient.
Just a one-hour flight or 4-hour drive from KL, Penang is a UNESCO-listed heritage city famed for its food, colonial architecture, and vibrant street art. Often cited as one of the world's best food destinations.
Langkawi
Island Escape.
A duty-free island paradise of white beaches, rainforest, and
crystal-clear waters. Perfect for a few days of rest before or after the summit. Direct flights from KL take under an hour.
Malacca
A Living UNESCO Heritage City
A 2-hour drive from KL brings you to one of Southeast Asia's
most historically significant cities, where Portuguese, Dutch,
and British colonial layers blend with Malay, Chinese, and
Peranakan culture.
What's in it for you
Returning after a long hiatus, the AIESEC Alumni Asia Pacific summit is a rare chance to come together - right here at home.
A weekend of meaningful conversations, new opportunities, and connections that go beyond the reunion. Come to reconnect, reflect, and walk away with something real: a new perspective, new connections, or simply a reminder of who you are beyond your job title.
Reconnect With Your People
Reunite with alumni you haven't seen in years - across generations, industries, and life stages. There's something uniquely energising about being around people who share your values and your history.
Grow - Personally and Professionally
Expect honest conversations about career journeys, life transitions, and what it really means to lead with purpose. Workshops and care groups are designed to go beyond surface level.
Actually Have Fun
Some of the best professional opportunities come from people you already know. This weekend is a space to share what you're building, learn from what others have built, and find synergies.
Spark New Ideas and Collaboration
A Gala Dinner, an eclectic venue in the heart of KL, great food, old friends, and new faces. Sometimes the best professional development happens over dinner - or on the dance floor.
The weekend
Day 1: 21 August
Arrival & Exploration
Kick off the weekend your way. Golf enthusiasts head to the Rollie Gosengfiao Trophy Golf Challenge at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort. Everyone else — explore the vibrant streets of Chow Kit, soak in KL 's cultural heartbeat, and ease into the weekend. The evening brings a relaxed networking dinner with familiar faces and the warm buzz of a community coming back together.
Day 2: 22 August
Summit & Gala Dinner
A formal opening ceremony followed by a cultural showcase to highlight Malaysia’s diverse society and its evolving economic landscape. Keynote speakers offer thought-provoking insights on leadership, purpose, and regional impact. Generational breakout sessions provide a space for meaningful dialogue, fostering the exchange of ideas and experiences. The day culminates with a gala dinner. Dress up, celebrate, and make memories.
Day 3: 23 August
Learning, Sharing & Looking Ahead
The final day brings practical insights, as countries share good case practices. Care group workshops offer space for deeper dialogue and collaborative thinking. We close the summit with a simple ceremony and a shared commitment to continue the conversation, and the work — beyond these three days.
The venue
Kuala Lumpur is one of Southeast Asia's most underrated cities — and those who know it, love it. It's a city of contrasts that somehow works: gleaming towers beside colonial shophouses, hawker stalls next to Michelin-starred restaurants, ancient temples a five-minute walk from rooftop bars. It's chaotic, warm, delicious, and endlessly surprising.
The summit is being held at The Chow Kit — An Ormond Hotel, right in the heart of one of KL 's most exciting and storied neighbourhoods. Chow Kit is raw, vibrant, and full of character — wet markets, heritage shophouses, incredible street food, and a creative energy that's been quietly drawing a new generation of locals and travellers alike.

Pre-Summit Tour
Friday, 21 August 2026 | 2 - 5pm
Before the summit kicks off, we're inviting you to slow down, get hands-on, and experience a side of Malaysian culture you won't find in a guidebook.
Choose one of two cultural craft workshops running simultaneously — each one a window into the rich artistic traditions that make Malaysia so extraordinary.
Borneo Beading Workshop | USD 20
Rooted in the traditions of Borneo's indigenous communities, beadwork is one of the oldest and most intricate art forms in Malaysian heritage. Each bead tells a story — of identity, of ceremony, of a culture passed down through generations.
In this workshop, you'll learn the craft firsthand, creating your own piece to take home as a reminder of this weekend.
Batik Painting Workshop | USD 15
Batik is Malaysia's most iconic textile art — a centuries-old tradition of applying wax and dye to fabric to create vivid, flowing patterns.
In this workshop, you'll try your hand at the craft yourself, painting your own batik piece under the guidance of a skilled artisan. No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to get a little colourful.
